Day 1

Once collected from home, we head to our overnight hotel making comfort stops en route.

Day 2

We drive through Dumfries and Galloway to reach our hotel in Stranraer, with time to explore before dinner.

Day 3

Loch Ryan Scenic Drive & Alloway
This morning our tour begins with a scenic sightseeing drive along Loch Ryan's eastern shore, then up the Firth of Clyde coast before cutting inland to Alloway, birthplace of Robert Burns. We spend some time here exploring the landmarks such as The Brig o' Doon, the 15th century hump-backed bridge over the River Doon, and Monuments and Memorials dedicated to Burns. We then return to the hotel in time for dinner.

Day 4

Christmas Day at the Hotel
'Merry Christmas'! This morning we have the chance to give curling a go at the hotels indoor curling rink. A game similar to lawn bowls but played on ice, this sport has been associated with Scotland since the early 16th century. For those that wish to join, there is a 'Bonspiel' curling tournament in the afternoon. We have a light lunch at the hotel, followed by a treasure hunt. After all the activity, we have a chance to relax before a 5-course Christmas dinner. Our evening entertainment is a live band with dancing and a Christmas quiz.

Day 5

A Day of Leisure in Stranraer
Today is yours to explore at leisure and take advantage of the hotel's facilities. You could take a walk along the coastal path of Loch Ryan, follow the Stranraer Town Trail inland around some of Stranraer's most historic and interesting buildings or there will be a Frostbite Golf Competition held by the hotel. The hotel will be serving a light lunch and evening meal which is followed by a Boxing Day quiz.

Day 6

We say goodbye to our hosts and make our way back to our overnight hotel.

Day 7

We depart after breakfast and return to the local area.

A fine 19^th century country house hotel, located across from the shores of Loch Ryan, just a short walk to the centre of Stranraer. Enjoy your meals in the elegant 'Regency’ dining room, which offers views towards the loch or enjoy a drink in the 'Ross' bar.
